Not Just for Tall Guys
Posted by Mark Woodling, Marcom Mgr. on 03/26/07

Originally designed for guys over 6' 4" tall, the new TBC-260PFL extended reach grass trimmer might become a more "mainstream" trimmer after all.

Available for purchase next month, the feedback we have received so far suggests that this long trimmer could be just right for the 6' tall user as well. Plus, it is a great solution for trimming down steep embankments or other "hard-to-reach" areas as well.

Save your back and make your oddball trimming jobs much easier with the new TBC-260PFL. You can pre-order your today by calling 1-888-482-6252.

Believe it or not, but this is an original, never-been-used-before 1974 Aquabug 1.2 h.p. outboard motor (made by Tanaka). Aquabug International was a distributor of Tanaka made outboard motors, bike motors, pumps, and generators in the seventies.

We were offered to buy this from a guy who called up and had found it cleaning out his garage. If you have something that we might be interested in for the archives, give us a call at 1-888-482-6252.

Posted by Mark Woodling, Marcom Mgr. on 04/19/06

Tanaka is in the process of developing its new PF3 line of PureFire low emission two-stroke engines. In doing so, we would like your input on the new TBC-260PF (tentative model #) 25cc grass trimmer.

So, please comment on what you would like to see. Thanks for your help and we will keep you posted on our progress.

Is it "Attachment Capable?"
Posted by Mark Woodling, Marcom Mgr. on 04/17/06

If you are planning on buying a new grass trimmer this year, keep this in mind...Is it attachment capable?

Why is this important? For starters, it can save you hundreds of dollars if you are going to need a pole saw, pole hedge trimmer, or another power tool down the road.

The key is the drive shaft.  Is it solid steel or a flex cable? If it is like all Tanaka straight shaft grass trimmers (solid steel), then you can quickly and easily put a pole saw, pole hedge trimmer, cultivator, or power sweeper attachment on your trimmer.

If not, then not only is it going to cost you another 3-4-5 hundred bucks, but now you have to find more storage space in your garage for another dedicated unit.
